Ilse Daly, MEd

Board Member

Ms. Daly has served ILCF in many capacities, including that of founding Board Member and Past Chair.

Ms. Daly received her M.Ed. in Foreign Language Education/German from Western Washington University and her B.A. in Modern Foreign Languages from Elizabethtown College. Her teaching experience includes California State University Monterey Bay, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, the Elizabethtown School District., and the Carlisle School District in Pennsylvania. Currently, Ms. Daly serves as a scorer (with NES) for the CSET examinations for German teachers.

Ms. Daly has been awarded the AATG National Award as Outstanding German Teacher, the Allen Griffin Award for Excellence in Teaching, and has been the Highlight Program Recipient for Excellence: MPUSD. She has received fellowships and grants including the Rockefeller Fellowship to Chile, the New Forum Teacher-Student Exchange Fellowship to USSR, the NEH Grant for German Literature, and an Austrian Government Grant to help establish partner schools. Ms. Daly has been named to the Haddonfield Memorial High School World Language Hall of Fame.

Professional accomplishments in addition to her work at ILCF include being founding president of FLAMCO (Foreign Language Association of Monterey County) and a past board member of CLTA (California Language Teachers Association) and the Northern California chapter of AATG (American Association of Teachers of German). She has also served as the AATG Northern California chapter past president.
