Since retiring from successfully teaching French for thirty-five years in a Salinas secondary school and training teachers in language acquisition via a project at Stanford for twenty years, Nancy Bainter has focused more on a branch of language manipulation in the form of art as communication, working with expert mentors in water coloring and fusing glass for which she was awarded a blue ribbon for her glass piece entitled “Cosmic Pizza.” She continues to participate in the Alliance Française and strongly supports using language for peace.
